  16. First off, HDToolBox is crap! Second, so is FaaastPREP. If you want a
  17. stable Hard Drive prep tool then get RDPrep off of AmiNet.

  24. I'll explain why I don't like either one. HDToolBox said everything was
  25. find with my Conner and Maxtor drives, but I was still having problems.

  27. It wasn't until I used RDPrep that I found a 70K partition on the Maxtor
  28. that was called DH0:, which was kind of funny since the Conner was also
  29. called DH0:. HDToolBox never reported the extra partition, because it
  30. can't.

  32. As far as FaaastPREP is concerned, it killed the Maxtor drive (that's
  33. right, killed the drive) by crashing! It destroyed the factory information
  34. stored on the drive. This rendered the Hard Drive useless.

  36. AFAIK the only way to get the drive back is to have the drive formatted on
  37. a IBM, since there is no way that I know of on the Amiga. And indeed it
  38. did bring the drive back to life!

  40. Since then I have never used HDToolBox and FaaastPREP again.
